Last night …
I did something that I would never, ever normally do: I went to a social event for young women. I was not in a sorority in college. In fact, I was (and am) one of those girls that thought sororities and the Greek system in general was fairly lame. So I think last night was about as close as I’ll ever come to a mixer or a rush party. Here’s the thing, aside from the initial I-know-no-one awkwardness, it wasn’t so bad.
And it let me, if just for a couple *strange* hours, practice conquering my fears of meeting new girls. And the ones I met were really nice. Imagine that. There might be more friends for me in this city, yet!
